Before Silence is a band from Belgium, playing dark progressive metal

2003

The band was founded by Herve (drums) and Steve (keyboards). They both played together in another band called Spirittales. After the split of Spirittales they quickly found Cedric (bass) and JC (guitars). After trying a couple of singers, the band came to the conclusion that JC should give it a try as vocalist. It was then required to look after a second guitarist. So, Philippe Dumont (solo guitar) entered the band at the end of May. A first series of tracks were then put together.

2004

Philippe Dumont left the band in February. It took a few months to find a perfect fit for the solo-guitar open position. Philippe Laurent joined the band to complete the line-up. After a few weeks of rehearsals we started recording our first demo "The Screaming Wolves", that was completed by the end of the year. It featured 3 songs selected among the 6 tracks put on tape. With this demo we started looking for concerts.

2005

Thanks to our first demo we quickly started "gigging" and could book around 25 dates during the year. In May we welcomed Nico at the drums. After a few months of rehearsals and concerts it was about time to enter the studio for a first release. We selected the "Dé Studio" in Asse to perform the recording and the mixing. We spent 7 intense days and ended with a 7 tracks CD, "The Ultimate Nothing", offering 40 minutes of Before Silence music.

2006

In the beginning of the year, JC decided to leave progressively the band, for personal reasons. We gave our last concert in end of March. After several months of research, we finally welcomed Laura as new female singer, in October 2006.

2007

We spent most of the year to compose our second album, that will feature about 10 new songs, more dark and more complex, including an epic piece of about 15 minutes ! The album is expected to be recorded in 2008.
